Disciple: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study is the foundation of the Disciple Bible Study program.  This 35 week Genesis to Revelation study of the Bible has been transforming lives at Mt Bethel and around the world for over twenty years!  This course (often referred to as Disciple I) is designed for those new to the study of scripture as well as those who are looking to grow toward a more integrated knowledge of the Bible and a richer faith.  One Disciple student explained it this way, “I’ve heard Bible stories all my life but now I see that from beginning to end the Bible is telling one story…God’s story…our story!”

How do I know if Disciple is the right course for me?

Disciple classes are comprised of 12 to 20 people of a variety of ages, life experiences, denominational and religious (or non-religious) backgrounds. While group members come from unique places along the faith journey they have in common a commitment to regular daily Bible reading and attendance in the weekly class.  If you want to have a greater understanding of the Bible, a closer relationship with God, a place to struggle through life’s tough questions and a desire to build a faith foundation then Disciple is the place for you.

Tell me about the time commitment?

Whether it is physical fitness, career goals or quality relationships we all want it to come easily BUT instinctively we know that the more of ourselves we invest in something the richer the result the be.  This principal is at work when we are growing in our relationship with God through the study of His word.  Disciple I students will read approximately 80 percent of the Bible.  The first 17 weeks will be a study of the Old Testament and the second 17 weeks will be spent in the New Testament.  Participants will have a workbook that will guide them through the daily Bible reading.  Classes meet weekly for a 2 ½ hour class time involving a brief video followed by discussion of the week’s reading and its application in the life of the believer.

A typical first meeting finds group members wondering how they will find time for the reading and the class time.  A typical last class meeting finds group members sharing how that commitment has abundantly blessed their lives.

When do groups meet?

Classes will be on Sunday evening at 4:00pm in the conference room.

What if I have to miss a few classes?

We live in busy times and very few people can make every class.  However, it is important when choosing a class time to carefully weigh your commitment to making Disciple a priority both in preparation and in regular attendance.  Your Disciple class will become a group of friends committed to each other.  When you miss class not only do you miss what you would “receive” but the class misses what you uniquely have to “give”.

What about childcare?

Trinity has excellent childcare available during most class times.  We are interested in you and your individual childcare needs.

Tell me one more time…..why should I make this commitment?

No doubt you have noticed that it is a crazy world we live in.  Life comes at us hard and the challenges never let up.  We struggle, our children struggle our grandchildren struggle.  We try to answer our questions, get a game plan, seek comfort and meaning and purpose in hundreds of ways.  Yet sometimes we wonder have we asked the right questions, are these the right answers?

Your heavenly Father loves you passionately.  He already knows you….He wants you to know Him more fully.  Join a Disciple class and let God reveal Himself to you through His word.  As you grow in relationship with Him your life will truly be forever changed.
